How do I change my login password?

I remember my login password

  1. Open your OKX app and go to User Center

    Open User Center page

  2. Select Profile and settings, find Security, and select Login password under the Authentication methods section

  3. Fill in the information below and confirm:

    • Current login password

    • New login password

      • 8-32 characters long

      • 1 lowercase character

      • 1 uppercase character

      • 1 number

      • 1 symbol

    • Complete the Security authentication (such as Phone / Email authentication / Authenticator app code) that you've set up and select Confirm

  4. An email/SMS notification will be sent out once the change is successfully made

Note: withdrawals and P2P trading will be unavailable for 24 hours on any new device after you change your login password.

I forgot my login password

  1. Go to Login page and insert your phone number or email address and select Forgot your password

    Select Forgot your password after inserting your phone number or email address

  2. Enter your phone number or email address and select Confirm

  3. Fill in the below information and select Next:

    • New login password

      • 8-32 characters long

      • 1 lowercase character

      • 1 uppercase character

      • 1 number

      • 1 symbol

    • Confirm new password

  4. You'll be prompted to complete the Security authentication by inserting your 2-factor authentication code and select Confirm

  5. Your New password will be updated and direct you to the login page to re-enter your account info and new login password

  6. An email/SMS notification will be sent out once the change is successfully made

  1. Log in to your account at okx.com and go to the security center (Profile icon > Security)

  2. In Authentication methods, find Login password, and select Change password

    Find the login password on the security center page

  3. Fill in and confirm your current password, new password, 2FA code (if any) to continue

    Insert your password details

  4. An email/SMS notification will be sent out once the change is successfully made

I forgot my login password

  1. Open okx.com login page, insert your phone number or email address, and select Forgot your password

    Select Forgot your password to continue

  2. Enter your phone number or email address and select Next

  3. Enter the verification code and select Next

  4. Update your New password and select Confirm

    • 8-32 characters long

    • 1 lowercase character

    • 1 uppercase character

    • 1 number

    • 1 symbol

  5. Once it's been modified, selecting Continue to login will direct you to the login page to re-enter your email/phone and new password

  6. An email/SMS notification will be sent out once the change is successfully made

Troubleshooting common password reset issues

If you see any of the issues below, try the related solution.

Operation limit reached

This means the password reset was attempted too many times, you can wait for a while and try again later.

Didn’t receive the SMS verification code

Please check your mobile signal. Make sure the message wasn't blocked or filtered by your phone or carrier.

Page is unresponsive or “Next” can’t be clicked

This's usually caused by network delay or a temporary system issue. Refresh the page or try again later.

Can’t receive verification codes (phone, email, or authenticator)

If you can’t receive verification codes, or your phone number, email, or authenticator app is no longer available, see these articles:

Facial recognition failed

  • Please update your app to the latest version.

  • To enhance account fund security, the fund password feature has been removed starting from App version 6.0.24. If your page still prompts you to enter or set a fund password, please update the App to the latest version.
